A newly published report under the CAGEA project presents a rich collection of 37 best practices in career development and educational programs from Bulgaria, Greece, North Macedonia, Portugal, and Spain. Designed to support secondary school students, young people, and university learners, the report offers a comprehensive look at innovative initiatives that equip students with the skills and self-awareness needed to navigate future education and career choices.
The study, led by the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH), is the result of extensive desk research carried out by CAGEA project partners. Each featured program was selected based on its effectiveness in fostering decision-making skills, adaptability, labor market readiness, and long-term career planning.
In addition to showcasing successful career initiatives, the report is also a practical tool for educators and career counselors across Europe. It includes programs that integrate digital platforms, coaching methods, serious games, and virtual learning environments—blending traditional guidance with modern tools to engage students meaningfully.
Among the highlights from Bulgaria are:
- National Portal for Career Guidance, developed by the Ministry of Education.
- Career Skills Platform, helping adults assess and develop employability skills.
- CRAFT Project, offering virtual career training in rural areas.
- Career Lessons Instead of Free Classes, integrating career planning into VET schools.
- GCDF Certification, training professionals in global standards for career counseling.
These and other initiatives provide concrete models that can inspire policymakers, schools, and guidance professionals to improve career education systems across Europe.
The full report is a significant milestone in CAGEA’s mission to modernize career guidance and make it more accessible, engaging, and aligned with the needs of today’s youth.
