The CAGEA project continues to transform career guidance into a more accessible, engaging, and practical process for schools and families. One of the project’s key results in this direction is the development of the Learning Nuggets — a pack of short educational videos created to support secondary school teachers, students’ families, and career counsellors in guiding young people toward informed and conscious decisions about their academic and professional future.
The Learning Nuggets were designed as a response to real needs identified through the project’s research process. CAGEA took into account direct input from teachers, guidance teams, secondary school students, and other target groups across the partner countries in order to shape educational content that is relevant, accessible, and adapted to their learning styles and time availability. This means that the nuggets are not generic resources, but materials built on actual feedback from the people who will use them.
Their format is one of their strongest advantages. Unlike longer and more demanding training resources, the Learning Nuggets were created as short videos that can be viewed flexibly, at a time and place that suits the users best. This is especially important for teachers and families, who often face time constraints but still need practical, reliable support when helping students explore educational and career pathways.
The content of the Learning Nuggets focuses on some of the most important aspects of career guidance for young people. The videos support work on students’ self-knowledge, helping them reflect on their interests, values, skills, and personality. They also address broader themes such as study options and job market requirements, giving adults useful tools to guide students in understanding both themselves and the opportunities available
